When we first walked through the models at 10 Rittenhouse, we were just amazed by the view. Add to that, a beautiful floor plan with quality construction. However, it just didn't feel like home. We set to work to give this model a traditional feeling to make buyers and visitors feel at home.

It isn't absolutely necessary to paint color on ALL ceilings. Except if you are in my house. All I want is for everyone to consider that big empty space in your home. Especially if you have crown molding.

I am a firm believer that every room in your home should have a purpose! That purpose can change over the years and it often does. Renee and Darrell knew when they built their house that they did not want a formal living room. Instead they opted to use the smaller room in the front of their house as the dining room and make the larger room in the back a sunroom filled with beautiful shuttered windows.

When you enter the foyer at Michelle and Jon's lovely home, the first thing that you see is the dining room. The contemporary layout features a lovely view of the back yard, directly in front of you. They carefully chose some great furniture, yet it just seemed empty. Even the faux finish that they included didn't quite warm up the room yet.
Having worked with Michelle and Jon a couple years ago in their living room, we were delighted to be called back to finish the look that they had started in their dining room.

For many people the living room is just a place to walk by on the way to the other areas of their home. Bonnie and Steve were looking to finish this room for their son's Bar Mitzvah. They had purchased a sofa that they liked and even a rug to go with it. Yet it just didn't feel like a place to spend much time. The morning sun coming in this room was good for coffee by the window and a great place for the dogs to watch the neighborhood. Our challenge was to make this a room that not only looked good for visitors who came to the front door but a room that drew them in and kept them there.
