Kitchens are a true reflection of how we live. When we entertain, it often revolves around food. It is not just about getting the most for your money—it is about getting the most enjoyment from this special place.
While the kitchen in Anita and Jerry’s new home was adequate—it was lacking in storage and accessibility. Anita had lived with white cabinets for quite a while and wanted a change. The soft gray cabinets were the perfect solution to obtaining an updated look.
We start by asking Jerry and Anita about how they want to use their kitchen. Anita wanted to be a part of the entertaining, so we began by moving the sink to the peninsula. The dishwasher was moved next to the sink in an elongated peninsula. Moving the refrigerator to the cooking area provided the opportunity to create more storage and pantry space as well as a better work triangle.
Cabinets to the ceiling created storage for those items that are infrequently used and created a more polished finished look. The glass tile backsplash was fresh and eye catching. Each finish was carefully considered to help this lovely couple truly enjoy their new home.
