A Place For the Whole Family
Spending time together is the ultimate opportunity for families to bond and equally important as children grow older.
When Chris and Rose decided that they really wanted to enjoy their family room with their teenage sons, it took some major renovations.
Back in the 1970’s when their home was built, it was common for the family room to be long and narrow, leaving the homeowners with an undesirable layout. The only place for the TV was next to the fireplace, which just didn’t provide a comfortable place for the whole family to relax together.
To create a more inviting space, the sunroom, that was there when the couple purchased the home, was torn down and the family room wall moved. Lots of new windows were added to bring in natural light.
The fireplace received a facelift with stacked stone and a rustic mantle, hardwood floors replaced the carpet and new furniture was added. A custom cocktail table was made to be just the right size.
The family room became a great place for this wonderful family to share – I’m glad that I could help them create a space they can enjoy together.
