A Gathering Place

Take a seat. Stay a while. Let’s talk about your day.

Before ImagesWhether you like to cook occasionally or regularly craft elaborate meals, supply the kids and their friends with snacks or enjoy hosting parties – the kitchen is always the place where everyone ends up gathering and chatting.

The kitchen is the most important room in your home. So it should be functional and beautiful at the same time.

Earlier this year we were invited to help create a kitchen where memories would be made. When we first saw this home it was just framed and open to a world of possibilities.

We started with white cabinets, which are always in good taste. With their timeless appearance they create a bright and clean atmosphere without being boring.

The countertops were made of quartz, a durable surface that gives the look of marble without the headache of a porous material. The subtle subway tile backsplash framed the stove with a herringbone pattern, while relaxed Roman window treatments added a pop of color.

A generous number of chairs created extra seating spaces on the island, so the kids can help cook dinner, do their homework or just hang out and keep you company.

In open concept living areas one room leads into the next. And the large bay window in the morning room provided an opportunity to add another pleasant area to just sit and relax.

Family and friends can gather at the adjacent eating area, which is showcasing a large custom dining table with a pedestal base. There is always room for more at this table.
